Hilex Poly manufactures plastic bags for multiple industries in the foodservice, delivery and carryout, food processing, and industrial markets.
And when it’s not making bags, it’s operating one of the world’s largest plastic-bag recycling centers to help keep those bags from ending up in landfills or waterways.
It’s all part of Hilex Poly’s commitment to providing a sustainable solution to the plastic-bag dilemma.
Novolex’s Bag-2-Bag® is the closed-loop recycling system operated by Hilex Poly. The program recycles a variety of products, including produce bags, newspaper bags, dry cleaning bags, cereal box liners, paper towel film wrap, sealed air pouches in mailed packages, and Ziploc or other zipper-style bags (provided the zippers are removed prior to recycling).
The materials are collected at designated store drop-off locations and then converted into pellets, which are then recycled into new plastic bags. Each new bag is made with approximately 40% post-consumer recycled plastic.

Hilex Poly participates in Centre County’s Grange Fair and is an important player in many philanthropic efforts in the region, including bag donations and volunteer initiatives in schools and fire departments.
