State College, PA
 - A State High basketball alumna has returned to the community, eager to serve area athletes and non-athletes alike.

Carly Onkotz, Doctor of Physical Therapy and Clinic Director at NovaCare Rehabilitation, recently cut the CBICC ribbon in celebration of the new location's opening at 526 Westerly Parkway in State College.

"I was drawn to the field of physical therapy because of my background playing basketball at State High and at Dickinson College," said Onkotz. "I love treating athletes, including all the weekend warriors that are so prevalent in this town. State College residents are highly motivated people, whether it's trying to get back to exercise or being able to play with their grandchildren again. I absolutely love finding out what motivates my patients and helping them achieve their goals."

Inside the facility, new exercise machines and brightly colored equipment are ready to help assist clients on their road to recovery.
"We are a state-of-the-art facility with all brand new equipment and a true dedication to one-on-one care," added Onkotz. "We are open and ready to help you get back to your best self."

Trained to assist with any physical therapy need, Onkotz especially enjoys treating athletes.

"We see any type of physical therapy that you need, " Onkotz explained. "I like to treat athletes. I like to treat vestibular disorders - so vertigo, dizziness. I also treat post-concussion syndrome."

Since returning to her hometown, Onkotz is already looking forward to giving back at 5k races and other community events.

"I'm passionate about my career and about this community," noted Onkotz. "I love that I get to combine the two and help improve the lives of my patients in the town where I grew up."

Helping Onkotz and the patients at the NovaCare Rehabilitation office is a crucial team member.

"We are lucky to have our patient service specialist, Kiersten Petrunak, who provides superb customer service along with her insurance expertise," said Onkotz.
