When a medical equipment salesperson needs to demonstrate the latest in ultrasound machines, their company may have an expanded need to ship the demonstration product across the country or the world. Right here in Centre County, Pennsylvania, we have expertise in making that kind of shipment, and many other types of logistics operations, happen: Sutherland Global Logistics, also known as Seko MedTec.
Seko MedTec is a global freight forwarder and logistics company based here in Centre County. SEKO specializes in logistics for high value products and supply chains requiring a high level of quality and compliance, including medical devices, sensitive electronics, military and telecoms hardware, etc.
The company traces its roots to 1920s Pittsburgh, where they began transporting films in the newly budding film industry. By the 1950s, they were supplying the movie and production industry and by the 1960s, the company was providing global air and sea cargo services. In 2005, Seko MedTec moved its headquarters to State College and deepened its expertise in high-value, complex supply chain management.
Today, Seko MedTec provides award-winning transportation, logistics, air/ocean forwarding, and warehousing through its extensive global infrastructure that includes 120 offices in 40 countries. They can provide e-commerce solutions, value-added freight forwarding, expedited shipping, and white glove services. All of these services are supported by a bespoke IT platform that enables global control of client supply chain activities.
SEKO can provide shared warehouse solutions in as many as 40 countries worldwide. This means that clients may benefit from the economies of scale of SEKO's multi-user logistics sites, since clients only pay for the space used from one month to the next.
