CBICC statement on Nestle
On April 16, Nestle Waters announced it would not pursue its proposed project to source water from Spring Township Water Authority Well 2, but that Centre County remains a leading candidate in its search for a third Pennsylvania bottling factory location. The CBICC issued the following statement:
"As jointly announced on Jan. 3, 2018, extensive testing on, and other considerations related to, the potential water source by Nestle Waters was the first and most crucial step in contemplating locating a water-bottling facility in Centre County. federal government weighing penndot funding request for high-speed i-99/I-80 interchange; youR support matters!
The U.S. Department of Transportation is currently considering PennDOT's grant application for funding that will allow for the construction of a high-speed I-99/I-80 interchange and a local access interchange to replace the Bellefonte exit. The project, a focal point of the CBICC's "DRIVE Forward" grassroots initiative, is critical to a safer and more efficient highway system in Centre County. If PennDOT's Infrastructure for Improving Rural America (INFRA) grant application is approved, the project will be able to move forward. A strong show of support from the Centre County community will demonstrate to the federal government the importance of the project. You can help the effort by signing on as a "DRIVE Forward" campaign. The CBICC will make sure federal officials hear your voice.
